Season's Greetings

They gave us this stamp set in Salt Lake City (with an ink pad, glass glitter and Designer Series Paper) at the very, very end of convention.  Imagine a room full of women who love stamping being given a last minute surprise gift of stamps!  The room went crazy!  And of course right after that, we began thinking about how we could use it this holiday season.  It has the best greetings.  They are big and ornate and can be a nice focal point of a card.  I look forward to using it again, but this card was for last week's stamp-a-stack.  We also tried out the 1/2" seam binding.

So Long Old Friend

If you've ever been to one of my stamp-a-stacks you know how I feel about this stamp set - I love it!  And many of you feel the same way!  By coloring directly on the stamp with your markers, you can create a soft watercolor"ish" look to create a nice subtle image.

Supplies:  Close as a Memory stamp set, Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, Whisper White cardstock, Barely Banana, Mellow Moss ink, scallop trim border, scallop trim corner punch

Happy Pansies

This fantastic technique was demonstrated by my friend and upline, Shirley, at a recent meeting.  I knew when I saw it that it would be a stamp club project!  Her directions came from Dawn's blog.  It uses the butterfly punch, a spray bottle of water, reinkers, and an Aqua Painter.  Punch the butterflies from Shimmery White cardstock, spray them with water, dab the edges of the butterfly with reinker and watch the color spread.  I used Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry reinkers, and like anything, the more color you use, the darker the pansies turn out.
Supplies:  Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, Shimmery White cardstock, Rich Razzleberry ink, Rich Razzleberry marker Happy Everything, Cheep Talk stamp sets, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry reinkers, water, Aqua painter, brads, glue dots, Scallop trim border punch, butterfly punch

Lovely Lilac Heartfelt Sympathy

I am truly excited about the Color Renovation. I am looking forward to all of the new color combinations, the brand-new colors and some of my favorite In-Colors returning. But anyone who has attended a few of my events knows I do like Lovely Lilac and Almost Amethyst together. I designed this card for my stamp-a-stack a couple of days before the announcement of the Color Renovation. And being the stocker-upper that I am, I have a couple more packages of these two colors. So you just might be seeing another card with these colors in the next couple of months ;-) I think I am drawn to purple with this particular stamp set because it helps to create a pretty image without a lot of extra distraction. To create the two shades of flowers, I colored directly onto the stamp with markers, stamped the center, huffed on the stamp and restamped the flowers on the side without recoloring. My stamp-a-stack ladies are up for most anything, but since we stamp 3 of each card, that would have had them coloring this stamp 9 times. That's a little much for a Friday night :-)

Spring Time Butterfly

This was one of the cards we made at last month's stamp-a-stack. I was aiming for springy cards, but also cards that can be used for several occasions. Flight of the Butterfly has 3 different curly word trails so there are lots of great options.

Supplies: Flight of the Butterfly, Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets, Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, Basic Black cardstock, Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, Basic Black ink, scallop trim border punch

Teeny Tiny Valentine

This was a quick and easy 3 x 3 Valentine we did in Stamp Club. I made the Very Vanilla square 2 7/8 inches and then could line up my new Scallop Trim Boarder punch and Scallop Trim Corner punch perfectly. Everyone has their own way of doing things, but I prefer punching the side first and corner second, and I also like to look at the bottom when I am lining the corners up to punch. Then a quick greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes, a small piece of Sending Love Specialty paper and a punch with the Heart to Heart punch and it's finished!

Supplies: Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla cardstock, Chocolate Chip ink, Scallop Trim Border, Scallop Trim Corner and Heart to Heart punch, Sending Love Specialty paper.

I usually make a set of cards myself with the extras after all of my Stamp-a-Stack guests are gone. The cards we did last weekend were All Occasion. This one allowed for most any greeting so I went with the "celebrate" from Celebrate Everything. That way I can go back and add one of the little words in the set before mailing. Talk about an all occasion card!

I was looking forward to using this One of a Kind stamp set because it was a prize from one of my uplines and new to me. We used the new Scallop Trim Border punch and In Colors to stamp the flowers. I love how the Boho Blossoms punch makes it a quick and easy card.
