Looking for a peaceful, nature-inspired card idea? This project features the Peaceful View background stamp and soft ink blending with Stampin’ Up! Blending Brushes to create a calming scene that works beautifully for birthdays, encouragement, thinking of you, or just because.

🎥 Watch the video below to see how this card comes together—from choosing your ink colors to blending tips and finishing touches:

Supplies used for this card:

  • Peaceful View background stamp

  • Blending Brushes

  • Ink pads: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive

  • Basic White, Old Olive, and Early Espresso

Soft ink blending is one of my favorite techniques—it’s simple, relaxing, and always delivers a wow factor. I hope this project inspires you to get your brushes out and play with color!

Wherever You Go Card

I think Stampin' Up! has done a great job adding several new stamp sets that can be used to make masculine cards to this new catalog.  Rae Anne came over last night and needed a Father's Day card so out came this brand new set.  This card is nearly like the card in the catalog, but there is something about having the real card in your hand vs. seeing it in the catalog.  I love it so much more in real life.

Lovely as a Tree CASE - Sort Of

Here's the last of our September Stamp-a-Stack cards.  The other two cards were pretty flowery so I wanted to go with a more fall-like card that could also be used as a masculine card.  We made the card with the tree by stamping it in Crumb Cake ink and then thumping it with an Always Artichoke marker before applying it to the cardstock.

The goose card is a card I made at a local stamping meeting that was designed by Julie Davison, but since I didn't have that stamp set, embossing folder, or punch, I had to do some tweaking :-)

Mosaic Madness Thinking of You

Mosaic Madness really make a nice looking card, and with the right color choices it can be feminine or masculine.  I went with manly colors for this one at a recent stamp-a-stack.  It made a great Father's Day, manly birthday, sympathy and get well card.

Masculine Birthday Card

Here's the last card from April's birthday Stamp-a-Stack - it's pretty basic, but I try not to add too many accessories when it's intended for a man. We used "the pokey tool" to add a little something.

May's Stamp-a-Stack is tomorrow night so watch for those cards featuring soon to be retired stamps and accessories next week.

Manly Polka Dots

This was one of the projects we did at the St. Louis Regional Stampin' Up! event I attended a few weeks ago.  We punched the circles to make a template and the spritzed the cardstock with a mixture of reinker and alcohol to create the polka dots.

Masculine Serene Silhouettes

This stamp set, Serene Silhouettes, is great for a manly card.  And by popular request, it looks like I will be designing another Stamp-a-Stack card with some of the other stamps from this set.

Chalkboard Birthday Card

I have been noticing a lot of blackboard cards lately.  So it was time to try one for myself.  Stamp your image on black card stock with VersaMark, and then emboss it with white embossing powder.  Rub the entire piece of card stock with craft white ink using a sponge.  To create the chalkboard look, you don't want the white to be completely even.  I used the white watercolor pencil to create the lines on the outside edges.

Father's Day Tree

Last weekend I had a birthday Stamp-a-Stack, and with Mother's Day and Father's Day coming soon, I designed two cards that could be used for those occasions too.  So here is a look at the masculine birthday card turned Father's Day card.

Manly Card

I am not as good at making manly cards... partly because the stamp sets I own tend not to be too manly, so Lovely as a Tree is my ol' standby.  At my stamp-a-stacks this weekend, I promised all occasion cards.  With Father's Day coming, this one could be used for Father's Day or any other manly occasion.  (One of mine may go to my principal on Bosses' Day.)  I was able to jazz it up with the baker's twine since ribbons are less welcome on a man's card.
