Weekend Stamp-a-Stack Recap – So Much Fun

What a wonderful weekend of stamping fun!  I hosted two Stamp Stack sessions—one Friday night and another on Saturday—and both were full of laughter, creativity, and great company. It’s always a joy to gather with friends (new and returning!) and spend time making something beautiful together.

We created eight cards total—two of each of four different designs—so everyone went home with a nice stash ready to mail. I love offering a wide variety of greeting stamps, so each person can personalize their cards for birthdays, thank yous, thinking of you, sympathy, or whatever they need most. It’s always fun to see the unique combinations everyone comes up with!

Think Outside the Box - A Graduation Card with a Twist!

Have you ever needed a card in very specific colors—and couldn’t find anything in your stash that fit the bill? That was me this past weekend. I needed an orange and black graduation card for a special graduate and party, and I wanted it to feel coordinated and thoughtful. So, I did what any creative crafter would do: I raided my Halloween paper!

Yes, you read that right. Halloween paper! I knew I’d find orange and black in one place, and sure enough, I had a pack of retired Designer Series Paper that fit the theme perfectly. I flipped through and found some great coordinating prints. (Hot tip: There’s almost always a more neutral or subtle pattern on the back of seasonal DSP!)

I paired the paper with a fun retired stamp set, Go Graduate,
and made a matching mini note card to tuck in my personal message.

One unexpected challenge? When I opened the card, the reverse side of the DSP showed a bit of purple—which clashed with my theme. It bugged me enough that I added a piece of black cardstock to the inside to hide it. Problem solved! And then I decided to recolor the little owl on my note card to make it a bit more subtle.

This project is a great reminder that sometimes, the most creative solutions come when we’re willing to use supplies in unexpected ways. Even though I was using retired products, I still found joy in mixing and matching to create something meaningful.

So the next time you’re stuck, don’t be afraid to flip that paper over or look at seasonal sets with fresh eyes. There might be a perfect solution right there in your stash—you just haven’t seen it that way yet.

The Reindeer Days Suite is one of my absolute favorite Stampin' Up! collections this season! It captures the charm of Christmas with its whimsical reindeer and festive elements, making it perfect for holiday crafting. Earlier this fall, I had the pleasure of demoing this suite for a virtual Stampin' Up! event, and I fell completely in love with the endless creative possibilities it offers.

Flowers and More Everything Card

I just love this Flowers and More Designer Series Paper.  And this red sheet is my FAVORITE!  I cut a 1 1/2 inch strip off the top edge and added another fun strip of paper down the back side.  I just had to be sure not to stick my 3/4 inch strip and greeting (from Charming Sentiments) all the way down on the right!

Daffodil Sympathy

I absolutely love daffodils so of course I love the Daffodil dies.  With a little die cutting, you have such realistic flowers for any season!  I used a combination of So Saffron and Daffodil Delight to make this sweet card.

It's getting warmer and and soon we will be having ice cream kind of days everyday!  But I am looking forward to some spring weather before we get to the hottest of days.  Until then how about an ice cream card?

Scary Cute Halloween Cards

The Scary Cute bundle makes such cute cards.  Because I do take and make to go kits, I look for sets that have die cutting options.  So the purple card was made with no stamping but the greeting.  The orange card used blending brushes, die cutting, the Stamparatus and stamping.  Such a fun set!!

October To Go Card Kits

After October my stamping will be all Christmas all the time.  So for October to go kits, you will get the supplies to make 8 cards (2 each of 4 designs) which will include cards that can be fall or Thanksgiving.  All you have to supply is the adhesive, ink and greeting stamps.  Everything else is pre-cut for you.

Sweet Songbird Celebration Card

Isn't this a cute little bird?  I didn't realize until stampers were leaving my house after making this card that it is very similar to the bird I have hanging on my front door right now.  

I combined this new Sweet Songbirds bundle with new In Colors, Orchid Oasis and Parakeet Party, for our first event of the new catalog.  And I'll admit I used the same color combination as I did on my last new Sending Smiles In Color card - becoming my new favorite?  Maybe :-)

 

I wanted to use the words from the set and I like bigger images for the inside of the card, so as you can see, problem solved with a little extra stamping!

Sending Smiles Birthday Card

I spent my afternoon making a swap card.  It's one of the fun perks of being a demo.  We get to preorder from new catalogs, and then we swap with other demonstrators.  We make a set number and send them off to the swap hostess, and she swaps them out and sends us back that same number of different cards made by demonstrator friends.  It's a great way to get ideas or to see new product being used!  We make full cards so sometimes I have used one to send to one of my stampers who has seen and/or made all of my ideas already.  

I used the new Sending Smiles stamp set and dies to make this cheerful card, and I love, love, love the new In Colors, Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis together.

Springy Cards for a Snowy Day

Here in central Illinois, we are have another day of snow.  I designed cards for this weekend’s stamp-a-stack knowing this weather was coming. It looks like I’m going to need to reschedule and will need another card design.  I’m afraid the valentine card will be too late when we are able to stamp next weekend.  Maybe I can put together a slightly modified to go kit for valentine cards!

These other two cards definitely have us thinking springy thoughts!

My friend Mary McCormick designed this bird card for a group swap. I made a few changes, but this card was definitely inspired by Mary‘s creation. I love that little pop of Pool Party ink on the flowers.
