Summer Smooches Double Embossing

Here's one more double embossed card.  I made this one into a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 card for a little something different.  It's a nice size for a little gift card, and I like the way the oval frame is such a focal point on the smaller sized card.

Double Embossing Button Buddies Vase

Here's another of my double embossing samples, and it happens to be one of my favorites.  I love the Pool Party/Whisper White combination, and when I made this card with the little frame, I was hoping the vase would fit.

More Double Embossing

I am still posting double embossed cards from my April demonstration - they are just so much fun to make.  Check out my April 24 post to see the version we made in stamp club.

You will run your card stock through the Big Shot 3 times total, and you will also only use 1 of the clear cutting pads since the chipboard adds the extra thickness.

First place a narrow piece of chipboard over one edge of the tulip frame.  Run the card stock through with the tulip frame.

Second run the other embossing folder through.  This time the chipboard will be attached to the back of the embossing folder just over the center area you want to be embossed.

Third, line up the one section of the tulip frame on the bottom of the card stock and run through the Big Shot one more time.

Here is a great tutorial done by Jan Farring that might be helpful.

Double Embossed Wedding I Do Card

This is one of my favorite double embossed cards that I did for last month's Spring into Stamping.  I made a card a few months ago with this color combination and just loved it so I decided to repeat it.  I think it would look nice in black too!  Check out this post for directions.

Double Embossing Technique Pinwheel Card

Here's one of my favorite cards using the double embossing technique.  I loved the polka dots in the background, around the oval frame and even on the pinwheel.  See this post for more directions!

Double Embossing Strawberry Card

Here is one the samples I made for my recent demonstration of embossing folder techniques.  When you run card stock through a Big Shot twice in two different embossing folders, you get a frame on an already textured piece of card stock.

            ·         Cut desired shape from chipboard Save
                 both pieces.

·         Attach chipboard to the back of both embossing folders using Dotto.  Fig. 1

·         Place card stock in embossing folder.

·         Use Tab 2 on Multipurpose Platform.  Pace embossing folder with chipboard side down and cover with one clear cutting pad.  Emboss with Big Shot.

·         Position smaller embossing folder over blank area left in card stock.  Fig. 2

·         Emboss again in Big Shot.  Fig. 3

Some adjustments may need to be made depending on the thickness of your chipboard.  I used the leftover chipboard from my Specialty DSP packages.

I've got a lot more to post in the next couple of weeks, and there are a lot of great samples of this technique available on the web.  Angie Leach has a detailed tutorial on her blog.

Double Embossing Anniversary Card

I have been working on embossing folder techniques the last few weeks for a demonstration at our annual Spring into Stamping event over in Champaign.  The group of stampers I belong to is just such a great group, it was like our own mini regional event. So I have plenty of samples to share with you!!  I will be back with more impressive looking but easy to make cards like this one, and I will have some directions for you too!  I will also have the latest projects from my April stamp club to share.  This card happens to be both - it was a club project and one of my featured techniques in my demo.
