Creating a Magical Holiday Sampler with the Reindeer Days Suite

Creating a Magical Holiday Sampler with the Reindeer Days Suite!

The Reindeer Days Suite is one of my absolute favorite Stampin' Up! collections this season! It captures the charm of Christmas with its whimsical reindeer and festive elements, making it perfect for holiday crafting. Earlier this fall, I had the pleasure of demoing this suite for a virtual Stampin' Up! event, and I fell completely in love with the endless creative possibilities it offers.

Crafting with the Reindeer Days Suite

I dove right into this suite, creating numerous projects—cards, gift tags, and even a holiday banner—but my absolute favorite project was a reindeer sampler. There's something so special about crafting a piece that becomes a timeless holiday decoration, and this suite made it incredibly easy to do just that!

Mystery Stamping Fun: A Unique Twist on Cardmaking

Mystery Stamping Fun: A Unique Twist on Cardmaking!

One of my favorite things to do with my Stampin’ Up! team is mystery stamping—it adds an element of surprise and creativity to our gatherings, and everyone’s unique spin on the same instructions always amazes me! For last week’s team meeting, I wanted to plan a mystery stamping project that was easy to explain yet produced impressive results for all skill levels.

A Fun and Simple Card Design

After playing around with different layouts, I decided to use a format I’ve been loving lately, but with a fun twist—I rotated the usual horizontal design to a vertical orientation! This simple change added a fresh look, and the results were absolutely stunning! Everyone’s cards turned out beautifully, and it was so much fun to see how each person made it their own.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Want to try this simple yet striking card design yourself? Here’s how you can create it:

Materials Needed:

  • Cardstock base: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"

  • Coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP)

  • Adhesive

  • Scoring tool and paper trimmer

  • Stamps, embellishments, and ink to decorate!

Instructions:

  1. Start with your 4 1/4" x 11" cardstock base and score in the middle at 5 1/2".

  2. On each side, cut up to the score line at 1", creating two side panels.

  3. Attach 1" strips to the card base, and then decorate with 3/4" x 5 1/4" pieces of DSP.

  4. Cut 3/4" x 5 1/4" DSP strips and adhere them onto the 1" strips for added dimension and contrast.

  5. Cut two pieces of cardstock measuring 2" x 5 1/4"—one for the center front and one for the inside of the card.

  6. Decorate the center panel with your chosen stamped images, die-cuts, sentiments, or embellishments to personalize your card.

  7. Finish with ribbons, gems, or any other fun accents to give your card a polished look!

Why I Love This Design

✔️ Perfect for all skill levels – Simple cuts and layers make it easy to assemble. ✔️ Great for using up scraps – Those 1” and 3/4” strips of DSP are perfect for this layout! ✔️ Versatile for any occasion – Switch up the colors and stamps to fit birthdays, holidays, or thank-you cards.
