Cheers - Mojo Monday Style

I have been so busy making slider cards that I decided to take a few minutes to create a "just for fun" card.  I like to do a challenge from time to time because most of my cards are created with a specific class in mind, and on these I can do whatever I want.  I'll have to admit it took me a little time to figure this one out which is the other reason I like to do challenges like Mojo Monday.  I have to get out of my box and create something with someone else's design.

3 Cheers for You!

I'm having some fun with challenges this week - this one is from ColourQ.  I knew which stamp set I wanted to use the minute I saw those colors - the Happy Hour set is perfect for summery drinks.  Many times I try to make my stamping do double duty, and if I make a card I want to use it for an upcoming event.  This week as I have been working on these challenges, all I worried about what following the rules of the challenge.  It's really helped get my creative juices flowing again so I can go back and tackle my convention swaps.  I have one set finished and another set designed, cut and ready to be assembled.  I like a variety and usually design 2 or 3 swap cards.  We'll see how the creative juices are flowing and maybe I will design one more.  Check back in a few days if you'd like to see what I came up with.

Cany Cane Christmas Cards

I was experimenting with this candy cane striped paper and came up with a few different versions of the same basic card.  I put out the stamps and supplies at my last stamp-a-stack so everyone could choose their stamp set and make one of the top two cards.  The bottom card was my first card, but when I realized all of my stamp-a-stack cards were predominately white or vanilla, I decided to switch the colors around.

Cheers

The Happy Hour stamp set lends itself to bright and cheerful colors.  I picked three colors and started stamping the cheers word down a strip of paper and had this card made in no time.  I look forward to using it at Christmastime too because there's a spring of holly and the words - "Wishing you Christmas Cheer and a Happy New Year!".

Cheers

This card was made with the new Cheers stamp set.  It doesn't show well in the picture, but I put Crystal Effects on the drink.  The nice solid images are perfect for Crystal Effects and really make it look like there is something in the glass.  I was trying to design this for the last stamp-a-stack and it just wasn't coming together like I wanted it to so I made one for me and did a different card for the group.  You may have noticed the orange piece flaps up.  It was my attempt at a different sort of fold.  Don't worry, I will give it another try and  you stamp-a-stack ladies will see this fold soon!
