Boxes, Baskets, Treat Containers… Oh My!

This is my third post featuring the Easter Joy Suite, and I’m still not done sharing all the fun projects you can create with it! After showing the versatility of this suite with baby cards and spring cards, I moved on to one of my favorite things to make—treat containers. Because really… who doesn’t love a cute little box or basket for the holidays?

Sour Cream Container Carrot

I started with an old favorite—the sour cream container—and turned it into this adorable carrot-shaped treat holder. I used Pleasant Patterns 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper, which worked perfectly for this project. It’s just the right size for jellybeans or a small Easter treat.

To make a sour cream container:

• Roll a 4¼" x 5½" piece of cardstock into a tube

• Seal the ends with Tear & Tape, going in opposite directions

• Tuck a piece of green cardstock into the top and snip strips to create a cute carrot top

Simple, fun, and always a crowd favorite!

DIY Easter Basket Box

If you’ve looked closely at the mini catalog, you may have noticed a basket/box shown with this suite—but it felt a little too skinny for what I had in mind. So, I decided to design my own box, making it as roomy as possible for Easter treats.

I created a custom box and added baskets to the front and back for extra detail. Now I’m ready to fill these sweet little baskets with goodies for the kids on Easter morning!

Monogrammed Treat Boxes

Another fun option—especially if you want the DSP to really shine—is these monogrammed treat boxes. You can make them in almost any size, and the Party Alphabet Dies make it easy to personalize them for someone special. These are perfect for gifting a small treat with a big impact.

Windowed Boxes (Because I Wasn’t Done Yet!)

After finishing the monogrammed boxes, I still had my window sheets out… so I kept going! I used the basket die to create a fun window detail and made a box with the lid attached.

Once the window sheet is attached to the inside, you can decorate the top just like the monogrammed boxes. I designed two sizes:

• One snug and adorable (a tight fit for the basket)

• One slightly larger, making assembly easier—and leaving room for more treats!

Easy Layout, Endless Possibilities – Team Stamp Along Fun

Last night, our Great Minds Ink Alike team gathered for one of my favorite monthly events—our virtual team meeting! We meet via Zoom once a month to connect, share ideas, chat about Stampin’ Up! business, and most importantly… get crafty together.

Every meeting includes a fun creative element—sometimes it's a demo, other times it’s a mystery stamping challenge or a stamp along project. This month, I designed the stamp along card—and I have to say, it’s one of my favorite kinds of layouts. It looks more detailed than it actually is, which makes it perfect for crafters at any level.

The best part? With just a quick change of Designer Series Paper, you can give the same layout a totally different look and feel. I made two versions using patterns from the same DSP pack, Floral Impressions, and I love how unique each one turned out.

Cool Treats Holder

Doesn't this paper and stamp set just make you think about warm weather?  It's going to be record breaking warm today so I'm getting my stamping done this morning and plan some yard work for this afternoon.

We'll be making this clever little box Tuesday night at my stamp class.  The Cool Treats stamp set and product suite is about my all time favorite in this catalog!

Do It Yourself Gift Bags

 

Several months ago we made gift bags with mailing envelopes in stamp club.  The ladies loved them so I knew they would really like these gift bags made with two 12 x 12 pages of designer series paper.  This was one of the great demonstrations done by my friend, Linda Yearsley, at Spring into Stamping a couple of months ago.

No More Store Bought Gift Bows

The tutorial for this came from Splitcoaststampers under paper bows and is a fun way to personalize gifts using your favorite Designer Series Paper.  Since all the Designer Series Papers coordinate so nicely, you could even use scraps!  We made these in stamp club last week.  I pulled out all of my old DSP, and it was fun to see all of the color schemes and neat bows everyone created.

Sunny Garden Medallion Emboss Resist

Here's another stamp club projects from last week.  I told the ladies to not be surprised if they see this Medallion stamp one more time.  My sister has been nice enough to loan it to me so I am using the heck out of it while I have it.  I initially borrowed it to do this technique I saw at convention.  But now, there are lots of other options for us, including this emboss resist with Designer Series Paper.  We stamped the Medallion with VersaMark directly on a piece of Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper.  Sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder and heat emboss.  We then used a brayer to roll over the image with Poppy Parade.  Gently wipe a tissue over the image to remove the ink from the embossed area.
