Convention 2015

I'm back from a wonderful few days of stamping and spending time with friends in Salt Lake City.  Rae Anne and I were the first to arrive, and after we got ourselves got settled, we walked to Temple Square.  I'd been before but enjoyed the nice evening and beautiful scenery just as much as I did last time I visited.

More friends joined us for the next day and a road trip to Park City and Utah Olympic Park. That was something I have always wanted to do, and I'm so glad I got to share it with these ladies.  After some outdoor adventure, the museum and lunch we headed back to meet up with the rest of our group.

Convention started on Thursday and was filled with demonstrations, prizes, swapping, visiting, the Holiday Catalog reveal, and business topics.  A personal highlight was when I got to walk across the stage to be recognized for a career sales milestone.  I couldn't have done it without all of my awesome customers and friends.  Thank you!  We had several others in our group of 29 recognized for some amazing achievement, and it's so exciting and inspiring to be there with them.

I'm heading home with so many ideas floating around in my head, I'm excited to get to work....after a nap!

Watermelon Curvy Keepsake Box

We made this little cutie Tuesday night at Stamp Club.  I continue to be amazed by all of the creative ideas people come up with for the Curvy Keepsake box.

I used Work of Art for the stripes on the green, and the black seeds are heart punches cut in the middle!

Ghosting Technique

I've been admiring this Ghosting Technique for sometime. With stamp club tomorrow night, I decided it was time to try it out.  It really works best with a stamp image that is solid (not the outlined images).  This one is kind of an airy image, but still produced the right look.  Stamp the flowers first in Whisper White craft ink and give it a little time to dry.  Then pull out that Stamp-a-ma-jig to help position the stamp (inked up with Perfect Plum) slightly off of the original stamped image. It's a dramatic look with little effort.

Stamping Wedding Favors

My cousin, Melissa, is getting married soon, and we planned a month ago to make her wedding favors.  We made a few prototypes, picked our favorite one and set a date to get together.  It was a full day of crafting, but we got a system going and definitely started moving along.

I stamped, and Melissa punched and punched and punched...

Once all of the circles and scallops were done, we got to work assembling.  It took a little experimenting with adhesive, but once we made our decision, we were ready to go.

Late afternoon we needed a little pick me up and broke out the licorice, but we did manage to stop for a delicious lunch and had leftovers for our supper break.

We had our system down by this time - I did ribbon and passed the jars to Melissa who finished everything and boxed them back up.  What you can't see are the three huge boxes behind us filled with finished jars!

It was a fun day of "work", and I am looking forward to Melissa's and Jake's wedding in a few weeks!

Birthday Candle Birthday Card

My goodness I have not been a very good blogger lately...  My most recent excuse is the terrific vacation I took a week ago.  Hopefully you'll see that in the near future in the form of Project Life pages.  I ordered the photos yesterday and am anxious to get started.

In the meantime, I have been creating cards and other projects - just too soon to share a few.  But here are the cards I did yesterday.  My friend, Jim, sent me a card with a candle on it, and I loved the idea. So on a recent grocery trip, I grabbed a box of candles and whipped these out pretty quickly.
