Glittery Birthday Cake

Here's my girly birthday card from last month's Stamp-a-Stack.  You may not be able to see the glitter on the cupcake, but that's the perfect touch to bling up this birthday card.  I didn't know it at the time, but I made it with the soon to be retired Pretty in Pink cardstock and the Easy Events stamp set.

Color Block Birthday Card

For my last Stamp-a-Stack, I designed a masculine, feminine and a juvenile card.  This was my juvenile card, but after I finished it, I thought it could go for most anyone with the bright, bold colors.  For the boldest look on the packages, I stamped the yellow and turquoise on scraps and cut those packages out.

Retiring Lists: Up to 60% off Some Accessories

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, today was my first look at the new 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! catalog online.  I nearly made myself late this morning, but I scrolled through each and every beautiful page.  I am pretty excited about some of the new products and can't wait to share with you!

The other big news is the announcement of the retired lists.  It's you last chance to get some of the those stamp sets and accessories you've been wanting, so don't wait - the accessories are available while supplies.  Stamp sets will be available

One in a Million Notebook

Here's one last project from Regionals.  It's hard to tell, but it is actually a notebook.  To be honest, it's not really my style, but as I was working on it, I decided I really liked it.  In real life, it's 3-d, and it was fun putting all of the different elements on the notebook.

Two Tags Tote with Notecards

Here's another project from the Regional event.  I love the versatility of the two tags die.  We used two of them to create this box for these little notecards.   I decided  to leave the cards blank for now and stamp words later.  You never know when you need a little thank you or thinking of you note.

Manly Polka Dots

This was one of the projects we did at the St. Louis Regional Stampin' Up! event I attended a few weeks ago.  We punched the circles to make a template and the spritzed the cardstock with a mixture of reinker and alcohol to create the polka dots.

Pyramid Wedding Card

Ok, I saved the best for last.  This was the card that it seemed the audience liked best.  I have to say, I like it a lot too!  Check my last few posts to see other samples of a pyramid card.

Happy Birthday Pyramid Card

I tried to do a variety of samples for my pyramid card demonstration so for this one, I stamped in StazOn and colored with a blender pen.

Pryamid Card

Last weekend, I went to one of my favorite Stampin' Up! events of the year.  My very talented group of local stampers holds an annual Spring into Stamping event in Champaign.  It's a day of stamping demonstrations, swaps, make-n-takes and prizes!  I was able to drive over with my friends, Rae Anne and Jane, as well as catch up with so many of my stamping friends that I don't see often enough.

I was asked to demo and really loved this idea from Linda Gutierrez.  I made a few samples to share with the group so you'll want to come back and see the rest this week.

With 3 squares of cardstock, you can make a pyramid card that fits into a standard envelope but will stand up and create a dramatic statement for your recipient.

Triple Embossed Birthday Card

I made a few tweaks to this card I saw on Pinterest to use the supplies and cardstock I have.  It is simple but very striking!  Here's Carol's original.  And here's my Pinterest board of cards if you'd like to see a few of my other internet favorites.

Color Refresh

In 2010 when Stampin' Up! did the big color refresh, they shared plans for smaller color refreshes every 3 - 5 years.  Well it's been 3 years and here are the new families for the 2013-2014 catalog!  You'll notice that most "new" colors are popular In-colors from past years.  I think they have done a great job because even though some of the retiring colors are colors I use a lot, I am so happy to see some of the colors that are being added to the collection.  You'll also notice a brand new color - Smokey Slate!

The retiring colors are only going to be available while supplies last so please order the colors you can't live without soon!  In the past, some retiring colors went fast.

Viewmaster Spring Card

I have always wanted to do a Viewmaster card, and when I got the Spring Sampler stamp set, I knew it was time.  We did this card last month in Stamp Club.  I made mine strictly spring, but many of the club members used Easter images and made it into an Easter card.  I used Dawn's video for my directions, and it went together pretty easily.

Sale-a-bration Treat Box

Did you get the Happy Hello Simply Sent Note card set during Sale-a-bration?  Here's a great use for a few of the cards that still leaves plenty for traditional cards.  Barb designed this box and included video directions.  It goes together quickly and is a great size for a small little something for a special someone.
