Flowers and More Everything Card

I just love this Flowers and More Designer Series Paper.  And this red sheet is my FAVORITE!  I cut a 1 1/2 inch strip off the top edge and added another fun strip of paper down the back side.  I just had to be sure not to stick my 3/4 inch strip and greeting (from Charming Sentiments) all the way down on the right!

Varied Vases Hello

I knew I would like Varied Vases and coordinating punch when I saw it in the catalog!  So when I got a chance to play with my pre-order, this was one of the first sets I pulled out.  (Demonstrators can pre-order from a select list of new items a month before the catalog is available -- ask me how).  I am planning my monthly Stamp-a-Stack with all new products this Friday, and this will be one of our 3 cards.  I think my stampers will love the new colors as much as the new stamp set!

TIP:
To help place the flowers exactly where I want them, I punched vases from scraps.  I place the scrap vase where I wanted it, and I stamped over the top.  I also didn't ink up the entire length of the stem on the shortest vase.  (I think this would be a great card to make with the new Stamparatus too)!

Global Design Project #GDP074 - Perfect Mix

I've been busy creating for a stamp class Tuesday night and planning for a March event.  But once in awhile, it's fun to have someone tell me what to make.  When I'm needing a little break and to revive my creativity, I like to participate in a challenge. I knew I wanted to use my new Perfect Mix stamp set, and this Global Design Project #GDP074 was right up my alley.

I used a banner from the Lots of Labels Framelits and did some paper piecing for the mixing bowl.  After adding a little Whisper White Baker's Twine, I was done.  Quick and easy.  Thanks Global Design Team for the inspiration!

Mosaic Madness CASE

Do you know what CASE means in the crafting world?  It means Copy and Share Everything.  If you give credit where credit is due, it's a perfectly acceptable thing to do when your mojo isn't flowing or when you're searching Pinterest for inspiration and you find a card that is just perfect the way it is and you want to make one just like it.  Well that's what happened this week at my house. For my stamp-a-stack, I wanted to use retiring stamp sets one last time.  So I flipped through my pile of stamps and pulled out a few I wanted to work with.  I found this card that features Mosaic Madness through Pinterest and copied it just as it was.  I didn't put any rhinestones on it, but put them out for my stampers that like bling.

Sheltering Tree - Retro Sketch #146

I've been playing with my new stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog again!  This Sheltering Tree is going to be a fun set to play with - especially during the seasons we can put leaves on the tree!  But for the first of January in the Midwest, I thought this would be a good all purpose card.

This retro sketch #146 made for a quick and easy design.

Life's Adventure - Everyone Has a Rainy Day

I love this little fox in the brand new hostess stamp set, Life's Adventure - available tomorrow at noon.  And I love the new Blendabilites markers even more.  I've never been much of a colorer, but that may change with my new markers.  They are alcohol ink and come in packs of 3 markers - light, medium and dark of the same color.  They work so well that the "coloring lines" that made me not like coloring are gone.  These markers are in the new catalog but will not be available for customer purchase until late June or early July.  You will also notice new thick baker's twine in the current in-color, Costal Cabana.

Vivid Vases

Love this Vivid Vases stamp!  My favorite way to use it is to paper piece.  I colored the flowers with a blender pen and then stamped the vases on scrap paper.  I made about 15 for a swap with other demonstrators and no two are alike.

Petal Parade

I wanted to use a new Sale-a-bration set for last week's stamp-a-stack, and it was the perfect set to help beat the winter blahs with this springy card.  We used some of the newest in-colors and added a couple of butterflies.

A You're Lovely Birthday Wish

I'm having fun playing around with the You're Lovely stamp set from the new Sale-a-bration catalog.  I had to break out my blender pens for this one, and I think the Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petal combination is nice and subtle which makes this card appropriate for almost any occasion.  Also the fact that it leaves room for a greeting of your choice, makes this a very versatile set.

Peachy Hello

This card was cased from a convention swap I received from Leigh Amburgey.  I loved the card she did, but I changed the colors and used a stamp from my new Peachy Keen stamp set.

Flowery Birthday Card CASE

This card is a CASE of a card swap I received at convention from Kathy Johnson.  That's one of the many great things about swapping - I had to use different stamp sets and embossing folder but was able to use the great color combination and layout she created.  I figure this is the last month for flowery cards as we are heading into fall leaves and holidays so I thought I would squeeze this one in.  Do you know how I made the leaves?  It's the wing from the Bird Builder punch!

Serene Silhouettes Convention Case

This was my third convention CASE for my recent stamp-a-stack.  I didn't actually get this swap card, but I thought it was a beautiful card.  I'm sorry I had to created it by memory, and I don't know who designed it.  So if it's yours please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.  It is perfect for so many different occasions.

Black and White Thinking of You CASE

For my August Stamp-a-Stack, I planned to do 3 of my favorite swaps.  This card was one the first one I decided on, and to my delight, when I turned it over it was made by my friend, Faye Colwell!  My stampers loved the black and white color scheme.

Swallowtail Birthday

With just one stamp, this swallowtail image fills a card in a pretty dramatic way.  I didn't order it at first when it was in the seasonal catalog, but I am sure glad I did after making several cards with it.  Here's my first card

I used the Finishing Touches Edgelit along the bottom to add a little interest, but then you can see in the bottom image that I didn't stop there.  We made this card at my last stamp-a-stack, and people seemed to like a variety of glittered and non-glittered depending on the occasion.

Strawberry Slush Gifts of Kindness

If I had to pick my favorite new in-color, Strawberry Slush might be it.  Who am I kidding?  I love them all.  In fact, with the color refresh, I am using all new colors all the time!  Some in-colors of the past have come back as permanent colors and have created all sorts of wonderful new color combinations.

I'm pretty sure I have some Strawberry Slush flowers in my garden so why not pull out my new Gifts of Kindness set?  I like the flower in this set, but the added bonus is the nice variety of greetings.  I will get a lot of use out of this set!

3 Cheers for You!

I'm having some fun with challenges this week - this one is from ColourQ.  I knew which stamp set I wanted to use the minute I saw those colors - the Happy Hour set is perfect for summery drinks.  Many times I try to make my stamping do double duty, and if I make a card I want to use it for an upcoming event.  This week as I have been working on these challenges, all I worried about what following the rules of the challenge.  It's really helped get my creative juices flowing again so I can go back and tackle my convention swaps.  I have one set finished and another set designed, cut and ready to be assembled.  I like a variety and usually design 2 or 3 swap cards.  We'll see how the creative juices are flowing and maybe I will design one more.  Check back in a few days if you'd like to see what I came up with.

Mosaic Madness

Here's one of the projects we did at Kim's party featuring the new Mosaic Madness stamp set.  We also used the Modern Mosaic embossing folder and the Mosaic punch that she likes so much.  I'm finding she isn't the only one!

Cheerful Birthday

I really liked a card made by Julie Wadlinger and created my own version to use the soon to be retired stamp set Button Buddies.  I hate to see this one go because it's just so versatile.  We used the vase and flowers stamp a few months ago, and I also used it on one of my all time favorite cards featuring double embossing.

Manly Polka Dots

This was one of the projects we did at the St. Louis Regional Stampin' Up! event I attended a few weeks ago.  We punched the circles to make a template and the spritzed the cardstock with a mixture of reinker and alcohol to create the polka dots.

Sale-a-bration Madison Avenue

The great things about Sale-a-bration is the free stuff!  This card was made with the free Madison Avenue stamp set and coordinating DSP.  I did use the words from Bloomin' Marvelous (also free).
