Christmas Tags!

Tomorrow night is my annual Christmas tag making class.  It's always a fun group, and it's even more fun picking a cute tag for my Christmas gifts!

We will make this little Santa fry box first to store the tags in as we create.

My desk after creating all of these lovelies.

Here's a final shot of all of the tags.  Which one is your favorite?

Pompeii Scrapbook Layout

Here's what I have been working on this afternoon - my layout for scrapbook club this Wednesday.  I found the layout here, and thought it would be a great way to show a lot of pictures.  It was hard to narrow down all of my pictures, but this was a good representation of what we saw.  It was incredible to walk on roads and among buildings dating back to 79A.D.

September Stamp Club

The start of school has been a whirlwind this year.  But I am happy to be able to take a little time out to stamp with my stamping friends.

Snow Place Fun

I had some fun putting together some cards with my new Snow Place stamp set from the soon to be release holiday catalog.  If you don't have a demonstrator and would like a copy, please let me know.
I am actually making one of these cards for a swap I am doing with fellow demonstrators.  I put out a question about your favorite on my Facebook page.  Check it out if you want to weigh in.

Swaps!

One of the wonderful things about convention is all of the samples and ideas we come home with.  We have the opportunity to swap cards with other demonstrators and also photograph display boards of cards.  Here are 3 of my favorites that I tweaked a little for my stamp-a-stack this weekend.

Convention 2015

I'm back from a wonderful few days of stamping and spending time with friends in Salt Lake City.  Rae Anne and I were the first to arrive, and after we got ourselves got settled, we walked to Temple Square.  I'd been before but enjoyed the nice evening and beautiful scenery just as much as I did last time I visited.

More friends joined us for the next day and a road trip to Park City and Utah Olympic Park. That was something I have always wanted to do, and I'm so glad I got to share it with these ladies.  After some outdoor adventure, the museum and lunch we headed back to meet up with the rest of our group.

Convention started on Thursday and was filled with demonstrations, prizes, swapping, visiting, the Holiday Catalog reveal, and business topics.  A personal highlight was when I got to walk across the stage to be recognized for a career sales milestone.  I couldn't have done it without all of my awesome customers and friends.  Thank you!  We had several others in our group of 29 recognized for some amazing achievement, and it's so exciting and inspiring to be there with them.

I'm heading home with so many ideas floating around in my head, I'm excited to get to work....after a nap!

Watermelon Curvy Keepsake Box

We made this little cutie Tuesday night at Stamp Club.  I continue to be amazed by all of the creative ideas people come up with for the Curvy Keepsake box.

I used Work of Art for the stripes on the green, and the black seeds are heart punches cut in the middle!

Ghosting Technique

I've been admiring this Ghosting Technique for sometime. With stamp club tomorrow night, I decided it was time to try it out.  It really works best with a stamp image that is solid (not the outlined images).  This one is kind of an airy image, but still produced the right look.  Stamp the flowers first in Whisper White craft ink and give it a little time to dry.  Then pull out that Stamp-a-ma-jig to help position the stamp (inked up with Perfect Plum) slightly off of the original stamped image. It's a dramatic look with little effort.

Stamping Wedding Favors

My cousin, Melissa, is getting married soon, and we planned a month ago to make her wedding favors.  We made a few prototypes, picked our favorite one and set a date to get together.  It was a full day of crafting, but we got a system going and definitely started moving along.

I stamped, and Melissa punched and punched and punched...

Once all of the circles and scallops were done, we got to work assembling.  It took a little experimenting with adhesive, but once we made our decision, we were ready to go.

Late afternoon we needed a little pick me up and broke out the licorice, but we did manage to stop for a delicious lunch and had leftovers for our supper break.

We had our system down by this time - I did ribbon and passed the jars to Melissa who finished everything and boxed them back up.  What you can't see are the three huge boxes behind us filled with finished jars!

It was a fun day of "work", and I am looking forward to Melissa's and Jake's wedding in a few weeks!

Birthday Candle Birthday Card

My goodness I have not been a very good blogger lately...  My most recent excuse is the terrific vacation I took a week ago.  Hopefully you'll see that in the near future in the form of Project Life pages.  I ordered the photos yesterday and am anxious to get started.

In the meantime, I have been creating cards and other projects - just too soon to share a few.  But here are the cards I did yesterday.  My friend, Jim, sent me a card with a candle on it, and I loved the idea. So on a recent grocery trip, I grabbed a box of candles and whipped these out pretty quickly.

Bokeh Technique Birthday Card

This technique is everywhere these days, but it took awhile for me to warm to it.  But I'll tell you once I found a color combination I liked, I was in love.  It is so much fun to blend the inks and then daub the white ink over it.

Project Life Night

I am hooked on Project Life.  I've not been able to sit down and really create for awhile, but I have been planning and printing pictures.  So tomorrow is the day - Project Life night! Anyone is welcome to join me, but what makes this different from my normal events is that I will be creating too!

If someone new to Project Life comes, I will help get them started on their first pages with my supplies.  But if all of my attendees are seasoned Project Lifers, I will work on getting my own pages done!

Build a Birthday

You can begin ordering from the new catalog today!  This set, Build a Birthday, is one of the great new sets available, and I was excited to be able to pre-order it.  The coordinating washi tape has lots of fun possibilities too!  I am going to a demonstrator meeting tonight and this will be my swap.  Hope everyone likes it!

Sunshine in a Box

I shared this last night with my Facebook followers.  If you aren't following me you can click here to check it out.  It's "Sunshine in a Box" for a friend who needs a little pick me up.  I planned to sit down and make a card, but then I came across this oldie but goodie that worked great.  It features an old stamp set, but the sentiment and the colors fit my requirements!  If you look at the background, you can see I used bubble wrap.  I inked up my brayer and rolled it over bubble wrap and then pressed the cardstock onto the bubble wrap.  Here's the original post.  And here's another card made with the bubble wrap technique.  And one more featuring Totally Tess.

Sprinkles of Life

A new catalog is starting June 2!  Here's my first project using new stamps, In Colors and ribbon.  I'm so excited to get my hands on more of the new products in this catalog!

What I love about this Sprinkles of Life stamp set is the fact that it has a coordinating punch and that for every purchase of this set, Stampin' Up will donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities!!

Mosaic Madness CASE

Do you know what CASE means in the crafting world?  It means Copy and Share Everything.  If you give credit where credit is due, it's a perfectly acceptable thing to do when your mojo isn't flowing or when you're searching Pinterest for inspiration and you find a card that is just perfect the way it is and you want to make one just like it.  Well that's what happened this week at my house. For my stamp-a-stack, I wanted to use retiring stamp sets one last time.  So I flipped through my pile of stamps and pulled out a few I wanted to work with.  I found this card that features Mosaic Madness through Pinterest and copied it just as it was.  I didn't put any rhinestones on it, but put them out for my stampers that like bling.

Spring into Stamping

I had a wonderful day yesterday as I attended the 10th annual Spring into Stamping.  I think was my 9th.  I wasn't a demonstrator for the first one, and though I wasn't a demo for the 2nd one, I attended and signed up soon after.  It was such a great event filled with demonstrations, prizes, make-n-takes, swapping and great friends.  Here I am with Rae Anne and Marie.

And here I am with Shirley who took me to my first Spring into Stamping.

Here's a peek at my swaps.

Colored Embossing Birthday

Before the Blendabilities markers were discontinued I created this card for my embossing class.  We embossed with white embossing powder and then colored the top of the image with Blendablities.  I wasn't sure it would look good up close, but really it's easy and quite dramatic looking.

Happy, Happy Birthday Card

This was just a quick card I put together with the Crazy About You stamp set in the occasions catalog.  It didn't make the cut for a stamp-a-stack project, but still a cheerful, happy card that would be fun to get in the mail.

Flower Patch FMS179

I was looking for a little inspiration when I started stamping today and thought I would go with Challenge #179 over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I knew I wanted to use Flower Patch since it had been out of the rotation during the winter months, and the two came together nicely!
